Very high IVF success rates in London, Northern England and Wales

The London Women’s Clinic based in Harley Street London, the North of England and Wales operate one of the most successful IVF programmes in the world, as their success rates demonstrate. Members of the LWC team were part of that first exciting wave of embryological research in Cambridge over 25 years ago when the first IVF baby was born. As one of the pioneer infertility centres in the UK, the LWC was the first clinic to offer IVF treatment as an 'outpatient procedure'. Their commitment to patient care leads them to search the globe for the most highly trained infertility specialists available. The London Women’s Clinic in Harley Street is rated in the top three amongst all UK licensed centres for women aged up to 35. The clinic’s 2009 IVF success rate for women under 35 is 50% with egg-sharers achieving a 69% success rate.

The London Women’s Clinic

The London Women’s Clinic championed the practice of egg-sharing, a programme for women under 35 who can receive free treatment in return for donating a proportion of their eggs and the egg donation programme provides hope to many women, who previously believed they could not have children.  The clinic boasts one of the largest sperm banks in the country and is recognised as the clinic of choice for lesbian and single women looking to start families.

The clinic has found that patients are more relaxed from the outset if they know that they have multiple chances for a pregnancy and so have developed a 3-Cycle package enabling patients to receive three cycles of IVF for the price of two. The London Women’s Clinic is the only clinic to offer this package making IVF treatment more simple and affordable.

The assisted reproduction services are complemented by gynaecology services such as a pre-conception and Well Woman check-ups.  The clinic also offers legal advice for couples and individuals about the process of assisted conception and donation and fertility counselling and coaching. They aim to provide individual solutions for individual problems in a relaxed, caring and supportive environment, discussing each step of the way the options available to you.

Egg-sharing at The London Women’s Clinic

Egg-sharing is an In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment that brings together women who produce surplus eggs (egg-sharers) with those unable to produce eggs (egg recipients). It enables these two groups of women to help each other anonymously. Egg-sharers receive free standard IVF treatment and egg recipients receive the eggs they need for IVF.

The London Women’s Clinic fertility treatments

In 1992, Dr Kamal Ahuja and Dr Eric Simons pioneered the egg-sharing project which propelled the IVF programme forward to its final recognition and acceptance, in 1998, by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). Since then egg-sharing has had a profound worldwide impact on IVF. The idea for egg-sharing originated when potential mothers suggested to The London Women’s Clinic some of the eggs not being used for their own treatment might benefit others desperately in need of healthy eggs.

The nation's premier Sperm Bank

The London Women’s Clinic also houses the largest Sperm Donor Bank in the UK, and has on-site facilities available for sperm collection and preparation. The clinic is currently one of the largest suppliers of donor sperm in the UK.

The London Women’s Clinic

The clinic’s donors come from a wide range of ethnic groups, religions and backgrounds.  30% of the sperm donors are from an ethnic minority and over 60% of the sperm donors have a degree or postgraduate education.

In 2011 the London Sperm Bank launched its new donor catalogue to give patients looking for donor sperm complete control over the matching process. The catalogue enables patients to go online and look for a suitable donor in the comfort of their own home, at a time convenient to them. Once a suitable donor is identified, patients can reserve the samples online and then one of the LWC matching team will be in touch to confirm the details. The catalogue can be found at www.londonspermbank.com

The London Women’s Clinic

The 3 cycle IVF package

Past results demonstrate that success rates improve dramatically when IVF treatment is adopted as a course of treatment rather than a one-off attempt. The London Women's Clinic appreciate that this maybe cost prohibitive for some and is therefore currently offering a '3-Cycle Package', which offers three treatments for the price of two. The response to this package has been tremendous and the success rates good. The clinic has found that patients are more relaxed from the outset if they know that they have multiple chances for a pregnancy. Patients booking this form of treatment will be treated for up to three cycles within a period of one year.
