Johan Witt is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon specialising in Pelvic, Hip and Knee Surgery.
He has a specialised practice dealing with disorders of the hip. As well as hip joint replacement and resurfacing, he looks after younger patients where conditions such as dysplasia and femoro-acetabular impingement may be leading to early damage to the hip joint. He has a large experience in performing periacetabular osteotomies for dysplasia and arthroscopic hip surgery to deal with impingement problems around the hip.
Since 1995, he has been a Consultant at the Middlesex Hospital and University College Hospitals, London. Prior to that he trained mainly in London, and gained specialist training in Boston, USA (1989), Sydney, Australia (1993) and Bern, Switzerland (1994).
He has developed a specialised practice looking after young patients with hip problems, encompassing developmental abnormalities requiring osteotomies around the hip and joint preserving procedures. He also has a specific interest and experience in primary and revision joint replacement in young patients built up on a practice of looking after children and adolescents with inflammatory arthritis within a specialist unit.
